Legal Interpreting

Legal Interpreting

We believe in the highest standards for legal interpreting. All of our interpreters are sufficiently qualified and certified to practice in Missouri. Compliance information is available upon request.

Our interpreters follow the Missouri and Illinois court system codes of ethics. They are dedicated to consistently continuing their education and training under the guidance of the Foreign Language Court Interpreter Handbook, which requires students to earn experience in both the classroom and the field. Students receive training in ethics, vocabulary, court structures, and the legal process. During training, students will also hear from guest lecturers and visit the court system under instructor supervision.

For deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in need of legal interpreting, we can provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters. All of our ASL interpreters are licensed by The State Committee of Interpreters (SCI) and certified by the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) at the advanced or master levels. For Illinois residents, we also have interpreters licensed by the State of Illinois Deaf & Hard of Hearing Commission (IDHHC), certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
